One girl rescued; two women held for forcing girls into flesh trade

How low can some people stoop, that they use others for earning money by using their dire-requirement of finances. One girl was rescued from clutches of two women using her for entertaining customers based on a secret tip-off on January 12, 2015.

According to police sources, the Social Security Branch of Nagpur Crime Branch received a secret tip off about the blatant sex racket going in Pawan Shakti Nagar, Nandanwan. A woman accused identified as Ranjana Sakhre wife of Ashok Sakhre aged 45 years and a resident of Plot No 40, Near Sangeeta Dongre’s House, Nari Sugat Nagar, Jaripatka Nagpur used to entice poor and needy girls and women with dreams of big money. She then used to reach these girls or women to the house of another woman accused identified as Shalu alias Shalini Vijay Satovane aged 40 years and a resident of Plot No 102, Near Sanjay Meshram, Pawan Shakti Nagar, Nandanwan. There these accused women used to force the young needy girls and women into flesh trade.

After ascertaining the information, under the guidance of Assistant Police Commissioner Nilesh Raut of Crime Branch, Nagpur, Senior Police Inspector B M Powar, Woman Police Sub-Inspector Sonali Patil, Woman Police Sub-Inspector Amita Jaipurkar, Police Constables Pandurang Nikure, Prakash Sidam, Sanjay Pande, Gopal Vaidhya, Ajay Ghatod, Yogesh Ghodki, Manoj Singh Chauhan, Praful Bondre, Woman Police Constable Surekha Sandekar, Asmita Meshram and Anita Dhurve, Police Constable Nilesh Wadekar and Photographer Rewatkar, Social Activist Advocate Kalyani Kapse, conducted a raid on the spot.

One girl was rescued during the raid. According to the rescued girl, these two women used to send her for flesh trade for their own financial gains. The spot is said to be within 200 meters of a religious place.

The Social Security Branch of Nagpur Crime Branch registered a case under sections 3, 4, 5 & 7 of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 against the accused, while the rescued girl was sent to Rehabilitation Home.
