One booked for preventing a police constable from discharge his duties

Nagpur: One person was booked for preventing a Traffic Police Constable from discharge his duties near NIT Parking Plaza, Maharajbagh on April 17, 2016.

According to police sources, the Traffic Police Constable Yogendra Tarone (attached with Traffic Department South-Nagpur) was controlling the traffic on near NIT Parking Plaza, Maharajbagh. At around 8 pm on April 17, 2016, the accused identified as Prashant Borle aged 35 years and a resident of Ganga Sagar Apartments, Ramdaspeth started abusing the Traffic Police Constable with vulgar abuses.

Without any provocation, the accused had also alleged assaulted and manhandled the Police Constable with fisticuffs. If this was not enough, the accused went on to threaten the police constable with dire consequences and had threatened the Police Constable saying “I’ll see you later”. This was a clear act of preventing a Traffic Police Constable from carrying out his duties.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Traffic Police Constable Yogendra Tarone, Police Sub Inspector R N Shejov registered a case against the accused under Sections 353, 294 and 506 of Indian Penal Code and is investigating further.
