Nagpur: Under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar police station, a police case was registered against two accused of murdering Ganesh Gaikwad on the ground of certain alleged illicit relationship with cousin of one of the accused. The accused are named as Vishwanath Siddharth Chavan, 29, residenty of Adarsh Nagar and Suraj Viveknath Khandare. While Vishwanath Chavan has been arrested by Yashodhara Nagar police another accused Suraj Khandare is at large and police is hunting for him.
It may be mentioned that deceased Ganesh Gaikwad had come to Nagpur after being released from Pune jail some days ago. It is said that some illicit relationship developed between him and the cousin (sister) of accused Vishwanath Chavan. As a result, deceased Ganesh Gaikwad, 35, resident of Chandan Nagar, was murdered near Dhammadeep Buddha Vihar at Yashodhara Nagar at about 10 pm on Sept 2, said the police, adding that the sword was used to murder the deceased. After murdering him the accused had fled the spot. However, the police arrested accused Chavan by late night of Wednesday. Hunt for Suraj is on.
