Old man hacked to death in Koradi, cops clueless

Nagpur: An elderly man was found murdered in an agriculture field in Koradi area here on Sunday evening. The reason behind the old man’s murder could not be ascertained as cops were found clueless so far.

The deceased Dumnaji Laxmanrao Gajbe (65), resident of Lonara, near Bharosa Besan Company, in Koradi area, had gone to work in the agriculture field owned by Dr Atul Vidyarthi near Lonara Pump House on Sunday morning. However, between 7 am and 7 pm, unidentified person(s) hacked Dumnaji to death. Neck and throat of the deceased bore deep stab wounds probably caused by a sharp-edged weapon. The reason behind the gruesome murder and the identity of the assailants could not be ascertained immediately as cops have not made any headway in the crime.

Koradi PSI T M Meshram, based on a complaint lodged by Sagar Mahadevrao Kohale (21), has registered a case under Section 302 of IPC against the unidentified accused and probing the matter further.
