Nagpur: A 60-year old man was found murdered near Hotel Gujarat on Ghat Road here on Monday morning. The deceased was a Divyang (disabled) and his body was found in a rickshaw. The deceased has been identified as Chandu Dhamania, resident of Imambada.
According to sources, Chandu was a habitual drunkard and used to wander near a liquor den on Ghat Road most of the time. On Monday morning, body of Chandu was spotted lying in a rickshaw near Hotel Gujarat in the area. His body bore deep wounds on hands, legs and waist purportedly caused by a sharp-edged weapon. He might have been attacked in the small hours as the blood splattered around looked fresh. On being informed, a team of Ganeshpeth police reached the spot and after performing ‘Panchnama’ sent the body to GMCH for post-mortem.
Cops have registered a case and investigating the matter further.
