Officials of Civic bodies, Rly inspect road-widening project

Nagpur: As the long pending issue of 30 metre road-widening, from Wanjari Nagar overhead tank to Ajani railway bridge and the problem of alignment of road passing by railway bridge have been sorted out, a team of the officials of NMC, NIT and Railways accompanied by local MLA, inspected the site on Aug 24 in order to expedite the work of road-widening.

The inspection team included NMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar, NMC standing committee chairman Ramesh Singare,NMT chariman Shyam Wardhane, South-West Nagpur MLA Sudhakar Kohale, DRM OP Singh, coporator Swati Akhatkar, NIT engineer R P Pimpley, D R Tembhurne, Subhash Jaydeo and others.

Having inspected the site, MLA Kohale and standing committee chairman Ramesh Singare held a joint opinion that once the DP road was widened from Wanjari Nagar overhead tank to Ajani railway bridge, it would facilitate the traffic of South-West Nagpur, warding off the ongoing conjestion.

The NMC commissioner along with others inspected the road passing by the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ajani, and expressing his views on the occasion he said, even when the road-widening work would start, the Kendriya Vidyalaya would not be disturbed and its academic as well as other activities would be conducted as per its routine.
