Of 90th birthday, bliss, blessings and more….

On 1st July, Dr. Yawalkar, one of the first industrialists of Central India, and Author of many books on Indian Agriculture, entered his 90th year of life. The birthday of this grand old doyen of Nagpur industries was ushered in by programs and parties at Uppalwadi Estate during the day and with close friends and family at his residence at Bajaj Nagar at night.

Having established Yawalkar Pesticides Pvt. Ltd in 1962 in the Uppalwadi Industrial Estate, the oldest estate of

Nagpur, Dr, Yawalkar has also been on the board of Directors of Bank of Maharashtra immediately after the nationalization of banks by appointment of the Finance Minister. He has been the Founder Chairman of the Uppalwadi Industries Co operative Society and graced the position for many years. Also, one of the first Presidents of Mahatma Phule Skiskshan Sanstha and its chief Patron even now.

Among those who shared lighter moments at the do were Advocate Chaudhary, Dr. Anup Radke, Pediatrician, Lt. Col (Retired) with the author of many articles on Feng Shui R. M. Omkar who is also the ex Managing Director of Punjab Communications Ltd. Mohali and author of many other books on Personality Development, Human Destiny and Counselling. He was accompanied by his wife Suniti. Also present were Sanjay Dahiwade, AGM of Ispat Ltd. Kalameshwar and Captain (Retd) Randhir Sharma, President of MIDC Industries Association and Managing Partner of Paramount and Electroplators and Industries. His charming wife Kavita was also present.

Dr. Yawalkar’s daughter and son-in-law Sunita and Bhaskar Mudaliar welcomed the guests warmly, making sure the ecstasy was consistently maintained!
