OCW receives prestigious ‘Brand Leadership Award’

Nagpur: Orange City Water (OCW) has added another feather in its cap when it was conferred with most prestigious “BRAND LEADERSHIP AWARD” for their branding and communication activities initiated for ambitious “uninterrupted water supply project commonly known as Nagpur 24×7 water supply project”.

On behalf of OCW, Sachin Dravekar, Spokesperson, received the award at the auspicious hands of Nagpur Mayor Nanda Jichkar, at a function held here recently.

BRAND LEADERSHIP AWARD is an independent brand recognition exercise initiated to give recognition to those brands and marketers who have achieved extraordinary success from innovative and effective PUBLIC RELATION/ COMMUNICATIO/MARKETING practices in the Vidarbha region.

The Mission of the Awards constituted by World CSR Day under prestigious Dewang Mehta National Education Awards is to educate and disseminate the importance of branding in the Vidarbha region, with the aim that a branding culture aided by best practices will then position the state as the leading state in India.

OCW’s CEO Sanjoy Roy while dedicating the award to every employee (the brand ambassadors) of OCW said, “Nagpur’s 24×7 Water Supply Project is not just technical project, it is more of a socio-economic project involving change in the mindsets, habits and lifestyle of people. People participation is a must in this project”.

It may be mentioned here Nagpur 24×7 Water Supply was earlier recognized as the ‘National Best Practice in Urban Water Supply’ in India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at launch of AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) and Smart City initiative in June 2015.

It must be mentioned here, OCW has undertaken various branding initiatives for 24×7 water supply project like Media Communication, Public Representatives communication, Consumer Grivancess Redressal Cell, Mohalla Sabhas (community interaction), Consumers as ambassadors (Water Friends), School and College students awareness programmes (Jal Samvad), Toll free consumer helpline, NGO networking.

These innovative initiatives have helped OCW in establishing a strong bond/brand with the people of Nagpur.

Earlier, OCW has earned various prestigious accolades in the past like Special Recognition in SAP, Special Achievement in GIS, Best Practice Award at IUKAN 2013 for ESR Cleaning, Utility Best Practice Award, Global Water Intelligence’s Water Deal of the Year 2013 and, most importantly, the Best PPP Operator Award by The Water Digest. ‘National Award for Excellence in Corporate Communication’ by 6th World CSR Day & National level Award for its social communication initiatives at the 6th Parivartan Sustainability Leadership Award 2016.

At the launch of AMRUT mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the project as a National Best Practice in presence of 500 mayors and municipal commissioners from across the country.
