OCW files police complaint against GDCL for damaging water supply pipeline

Nagpur: The Orange City Water (OCW) has lodged a complaint with Nandanvan police against GDCL for damaging its water supply pipeline and causing severe hardships to citizens in many localities.

The residents in Shailesh Nagar, Suraj Nagar, Kamakshi Nagar, Vathoda Slums, Sadashiv Nagar, Deshpande Layout in Lakadganj Zone faced frequent disruption or irregular in water supply without notice since the past many days. Following investigations, it came to the fore that the 700 mm water supply pipeline was damaged by the GDCL. The company is constructing a bridge besides Nag River near Shailesh Nagar on Prajapati Nagar-Sangharsh Nagar Road. During their ongoing work, the GDCL damaged the 700 mm NMC’s pipeline affecting water supply to many areas from December 15. The company assured to repair the pipeline but failed to do so till to date. This inaction by the GDCL forced OCW to lodge a complaint with Nandanvan police for damaging the pipeline and causing disruption in water supply to citizens in Shailesh Nagar, Suraj Nagar, Kamakshi Nagar, Vathoda Slums, Sadashiv Nagar, Deshpande Layout in Lakadganj Zone.

Nandanvan police have registered an FIR against GDCL and further course of action is being initiated in this connection.
