NVCC’s supported “Nagpur Trade Bandh” on April 12 in support of Sarafa Bazar postponed

The Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce has organized a joint meeting of Executive Committee and Presidents/Secretaries of all Trade Associations on Saturday the April 9, 2016 at the Meeting Hall. President of NVCC Prakash Mehadia presided over the meeting.

At the outset President Prakash Mehadia apprised the members/ traders present in the meeting and said that NVCC is supporting the “Trade Bandh of Traders of Sarafa Bazaar” who are protesting the imposition of 1% Excise Duty on Gold and Jewellery Trade.

He further said that President Sona Chandi Oli Committee Ravikant Harde who was also present in the meeting would give the details of report of Akhil Bhartiya Sarafa Association. Ravikant Harde while reporting the details of the agitation said that the matter of levy of 1% excise duty would be discussed shortly with the concerned government authorities and in case a proper justification is not given by the Government, the traders would take serious opposition to the decision pan India. He added that the ongoing proposal for “Trade Bandh” should be postponed till further notice.

In view of the appeal made by President of Sona Chandi Oli Committee Ravikant Harde, the One-Day-Token Trade Bandh of all traders of Nagpur proposed by NVCC on Tuesday the April 12, 2016 has been postponed till further notice, informed NVCC President Prakash Mehadia and Secretary of NVCC Jayprakash Parekh.
