: Senior RSS ideologist MG Vaidya on Saturday retorted back on Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray’s comments on his remarks over division of Maharashtra into 4 smaller states saying that he has already reached 94 years of age and would continue to live till 100. He added that if Thackeray does not want him to live then he can do anything. Thackeray had on Friday commented that Vaidya should stop talking like this at the juncture of this age. Addressing a meeting on the occasion of Gudi Padwa in Mumbai on Friday, Thackeray appeared wary of Vaidya’s suggestion of carving 4 smaller states out Maharashtra. Replying on Thackeray’s comments Vaidya appeared to be supportive of smaller states, however he said that those were his personal views.

Vaidya said that whatever Thackeray said was the reflection his own style. “Everyone has the right to express and hence I cannot comment much on Thackeray’s comments”, Vaidya said while addressing a seminar on the subject of smaller states including proposed Vidarbha, organized in Tirpude College of Social Science in Nagpur on Saturday.

He said that he would not only support Vidarbha but other smaller states too as there is huge disparity in existing states in the nation. He said the government should pay serious concern towards the issue, demanding that State Reorganization Commission should be formed to deal with the same. He said smaller states should be formed after conducting referendum and the maximum population should not be more than 3 crore for each state.
