NU Hostel students grapple with trash & pigs, too

Nagpur:
Students staying at Nagpur University’s Hostel in Ravinagar now-a-days grappling with a stinking problem. The compound of the hostel is being littered with trash by nearby residents. And with the trash come the stray pigs that sneak into the compound leaving the students aghast. Littering continues to be a problem at the hostel premises as the University authorities turn a blind eye.

The Ravinagar Hostel of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is manned by one Warden, a Caretaker, a Babu, a Maintenance employee, four sanitation workers and two security guards. Despite the manforce, outsiders come, litter, and go without any hindrance. Pigs too follow suit as if they are “authorised” to enter the hostel premises. The stray pigs loiter in search of trash freely as no one is bothered by their presence. Only the students feel the stink.

The rooftop claims of RTMNU authorities of providing excellent facilities to hostel students could turn out hollow if one visits the Ravinagar Hostel. Trash can be found littered all over the premises.

“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan the Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University!” Keep it up!!
