Nagpur: The carelessness and neglect of the officials of Nagpur University’s exam department was opposed by NSUI students by conducting a ‘gherao’ of the Controller of Examination’s office.

The state Vice President of NSUI Ajit Singh informed the media that 36 students of Naveera College at Katol Road were directed to appear for 2017 summer exams by the administration by issuing them duplicate admit cards. As soon as the results were declared, it was discovered that the cards issued to them were fake. When the issue had come into the limelight, the Vice Chancellor had formed an investigating committee with Dean of Commerce department, Deshpandey. In the report submitted by the committee, it was discovered that the students had no fault in the whole matter. As a result it was directed to examine the answer sheets of these students and declare their results.

The college was issued a notice to declare the results of these students on August 22. However, the administration has not taken any action till now. The whole episode had such stressful impact on the students that several of them had to be hospitalized.

Opposing the same, NSUI students conducted a protest and also chanted slogans against the management. The Controller of Examination, Neeraj Khati has ensured the students that they will not have to undergo any loss and if required, students will be issued admit cards on the basis of their results. “If the college fails to meet its responsibilities, we will also consider cancellation of its affiliation”, said Khati.

The protest was led by Secretary Prateek Kolhe and Roshan Kumbhalkar. Various other office bearers of NSUI were also present at the protest.
