NRHA organize special camp for property tax assessment

Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) organised a special camp in association with Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for its members for self assessment of their properties as per new tax system in 2015-16 fiscal with effect from April 1, 2015.

Present on the dais were Milind Meshram – Assistant Municipal Commissioner Property Tax, C. G. Dhakate – Tax Assessor NMC, from NRHA Prakash Trivedi – president, Inderjeet Singh Baweja – vice president and Tejinder Singh Renu – secretary.

While addressing the gathering Milind Meshram informed NRHA members that to encourage taxpayers to pay the difference of 2015-16 in current fiscal before March 31, NMC had allowed self-assessment and announced 10% rebate on General Tax for such citizens. Furthermore NMC has also announced exemption from 2% interest per month for taxpayers who had not paid tax for 2015-16 before December 31 but paid it before March 31 along with difference amount. Such taxpayers were to get exemption from 6% penal interest and also 10% rebate on General Tax. He also appreciated the initiative taken by NRHA by organizing this camp beneficial to NMC as well as NRHA members.

Tejinder Singh Renu, secretary of NRHA expressed gratitude to Shravan Hardikar – Municipal Commissioner as he during his recent visit to NRHA meeting has mooted this idea of special camp. NRHA is also thankful to Milind Meshram and Shrikant Vaidya – Tax Superintendent including those from E-Governance branch of NMC Nilesh Warkar & others for taking time out for members of NRHA. Association is also highly grateful to Rishi Tuli for providing space in his Hotel Darshan Towers including all required arrangements for this camp.

The Camp concluded in the evening after being inaugurated at 11 am and was extremely successful as not only members from NRHA availed this facility, but also members of Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) got their properties assessed and took advantage of rebate being offered by NMC, whereby NMC collected Rs.11 lakh from this camp.
