Now, ‘Ravan Dahan’ will take place on Monday at Kasturchand Park breaking 62-year tradition

The event “Ravan Dahan” till now was taking place on Dussehra or Vijayadashmi itself since years together without a break. However, the organizer of the event, Sanatan Sanstha, giving the reason for postponing the traditional event, informed that the “Entire North India is celebrating Dussehra or Vijayadashmi on Monday(October 14).”

Nagpur News: The Ten-Faced Demon Ravan has received 24 hours more to breath in Nagpur as the 62-year tradition of “Ravan Dahan” on Dussehra or Vijayadashmi has been postponed and the religious and mythical event would take on Monday (October 14) at Kasturchand Park. It is for the first time in the history of Nagpur that “Ravan Dahan” would take place the next day of Dussehra at the historic Kasturchand Park which witnessed the Victory over Evil for years together without a break.

The biggest attraction of Nagpur on Dussehra, the “Ravan Dahan” at Kasturchand Park is witnessed by thousands of people, not only from the Orange City, but from surrounding areas and even from neighbouring states.  The organizer of the event, Sanatan Sanstha, giving the reason for postponing the traditional “Ravan Dahan,” informed that the “Entire North India is celebrating Dussehra or Vijayadashmi on Monday (October 14).” However, “Ravan Dahan” is taking place on Sunday itself in other areas of Nagpur as, according to Maharashrian Panchang, Dussehra in on Sunday only.

The “Ravan Dahan” at the historic Kasturchand Park, the main event of Nagpur, is organized by Sanatan Dharma Youth Sanstha, will begin at 4 pm till 5.30 pm on Mondayand the chief guest this year will be EGS Minister Nitin Raut. The event will be marked by Aero Modelling by noted Aero Modeller Rajesh Joshi in between the main event. The organizer of the “Ravan Dahan” has informed that this year a dazzling and colourful fireworks display would take place on more and more delightful proportion.

The District Education Officer has declared Monday a holiday for schools although Government offices would function as usual. The “Ravan Dahan” at Ramana Moroti, Nandanvan, Narendra Nagar and other places will take place on Sunday.

The main event of “Ravan Dahan,” being organized at Kasturchand Park on Monday, has provided the Demon Ravan 24 hours more to breath Nagpur air and also 24 hours more to Victory over Evil.
