‘Sairat,’ starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, was a tragic tale of love that dew in the masses. The film went on to become the first Marathi film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark.

Many Bollywood celebs too had praised the film for this feat when it had released. Since the success of the film, some Bollywood producers have been vying to buy the remake rights of the film. However, it seems like the film has landed in the kitty of Dharma Productions.

The film will apparently be produced by Dharma Productions, along with Zee, who were the original producers of the regional film. While the basic storyline is slated to remain same it is reportedly being reworked to suit the tastes of the pan-Indian audience. The film will also feature a fresh cast. It is rumoured that the film will go on the floors next year.
