Nagpur News.
Terror unleashed by “Land Mafia” Dhawde gang has so terribly gripped the citizens that a victim lodged a detailed complaint with Nandanwan Police Station against the gang only on Friday (February 14) in connection with the incident that occurred between October 4 2012 and October 9 2012. Nandanvan police, now, acting on the complaint, have registered an offence against Dhawde gang.
According to police, the complainant Ganesh Murlidhar Humne (40), resident of Jagjivanram Nagar, near Garoba Maidan, Nagpur, owns two plots of Mansewa Cooperative Housing Society in Khasra No. 45 in Vathoda. Ganesh Humne had visited his plots between October 4, 2012 and October 9, 2012. At the same time the accused Harichandra Madhavrao Dhawde, Corporator Anil Dhawde, Pawan Harichandra Dhawde, Rajesh Wasudeo Itankar, Dinesh Rambhau Aakre, all residents of Dhawde Mohalla, Santosh Singh Dayal Singh, resident of Lashkaribagh, Sonu Ansari and other four accused had stormed the plots of Ganesh Humne, who was present at that time, and started abusing him. All the accused threatened Ganesh with life by dreaded words: “Yeh plot Bhau ko de de nahi to tujhe ham jaan se mar dalenge.” (Hand over this plot to Bhau otherwise we will kill you). After doling out the life threat, the Dhawde gang uprooted the board in which Ganesh Humne’s name was written as the owner of the plots. Not satisfied with the threat and vandalism, some gang members had forcibly snatched Rs 1 lakh from Ganesh.
Now, Nandanvan police, acting on the delayed but detailed complaint lodged by Ganesh Humne, have booked all the accused under Sections 147, 148, 149, 447, 386, 387, 249, 506(B), and Sub-Section 4+25 of the IPC. Further probe is being carried out by API Kalbande.
However, when Nagpur Today contacted Nandanvan Police Inspector Wadile for his comments over the enormous delay in lodging of the complaint on the part of Ganesh Humne when the actual incident had occurred between October 4 2012 and October 9 2012, the PI Wadile clarified that Ganesh Humne had earlier also lodged his complaint but did not mention the details. That is why police had given NC to the complainant. But Ganesh Humne again returned to the Police Station on Friday(February 14) and narrated the entire episode to the police. When police questioned Ganesh Humne on the delay in the detailed complaint, he said that he was so terrified by the actions and words of the Dhawde gang, he could not gather courage in filing the detailed complaint against the gang. However, when heard and read recently that Kalamna police rounded up Harichandra Dhawde and 22 other members of the gang and sent them to jail, he trusted police and dared to lodge complaint with all details. PI Wadile said that police listened Ganesh Humne’s side and after confirmation of the incident, police have now booked the accused under Sections 147, 148, 149, 447, 386, 387, 249, 506(B), and Sub-Section 4+25 of the IPC.
