Sachin Somkuwar Murder

Nagpur: In a brazen act, a notorious goon was gunned down by 5-6 assailants in the busy Gokulpeth Fish Market around 2 pm on Thursday apparently in a revenge act. The deceased has been identified as Sachin Somkuwar alias Sachin Dudhya (34), resident of Hilltop, Pandhrabodi. The daylight gunning down of the goon created ripples in the market and nearby areas.

Reports suggest that an accomplice of Sachin too was injured critically in the attack and is being treated at a private hospital. The deceased Sachin Dudhya used to drive auto earlier and was “busy” in criminal activities as well.

According to sources, some 2-3 years back, Sachin and his 5-6 accomplices had eliminated a history-sheeter named Balya Uike by entering Jupiter Salon situated near Pandhrabodi. However, he and other accused were acquitted by a court a few months ago.

Around 2 pm on Thursday, Sachin Dudhya had come to the Gokulpeth Fish Market probably for some work totally unaware of violent death stalking him. The gang of 5-6 assailants arrived at the market in a silver-coloured vehicle and walked towards Sachin Dudhya. Even before the goon could sense trouble, the gang fired 6-7 bullets on Sachin in cold blood. One of the bullets reportedly hit him on head and he collapsed on the spot. The grievously injured Sachin Dudhya died on the spot.

The grisly daylight murder at the busy market triggered tremors across the commercial hub with nearby traders downing shutters in awe.

Upon receiving information about gunning down of the notorious criminal, top brass of police started reaching the spot. A Dog Squad, Forensic team, Crime Branch sleuths and Ambazari cops too rushed to the crime scene and started investigation.
Cops suspect the murder to be a revenge act perpetrated by the assailants to settle score on Balya Uike murder front.
Till the filing of this report, the police were clueless but investigating the murder with full throttle.
