Nagpur: Pachpaoli police on Friday rounded up a notorious burglar and seized stolen valuables and motorcycle collective valued at Rs 1.11 lakh.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mohd Sajid alias Shahid Ezaz Ansari (35), resident of Warispura, Kamptee. On February 27, gold ornaments and cash collectively worth Rs 30,500 were stolen from the house of Shajiya Nazar Alam (25), residing as tenant in Wazuddin Siddiqui’s house in Naj Nagar Teka.
After registering an offence, Pachpaoli police launched a search of the accused. Acting on a tip off, cops arrested the accused Mohd Sajid and recovered stolen gold-silver ornaments worth Rs 36,000 from his possession. Similarly, a Honda Twister motorcycle (MH-31/EB 2762) worth Rs 75,000 stolen from Tehsil police jurisdiction was also seized by the cops.
The arrest was made by Senior PI Ashok Meshram, PSIs V M Dhongde, T M Dhakulkar, ASI Subhash Soundarkar, staff Chintaman Dakhole, Vihay Yadav, Sariputra Fulzele, Ravishankar Mishra, Rajesh Deshmukh, Vilas Chavan, Vijay Jane, Mahesh Jadhav, Sunil Wankhede, Vinod Barde under the guidance of DCP Zone 3 Rahul Maknikar and ACP Walchand Munde.
