Nagpur: Noted builder of the city Vijay Dangre has been charged with allegedly barging into the house of a former government pleader Adv Bhagwan Lonare and threatening him with dire consequnces. Adv Lonare had lodged a complaint with Mankapur police station against Dangre and his accomplices charging that the builder has been demanding 10 lakh from him.

According to Adv Lonare, some of his lawyer friends had filed a public interest litigation (PIL) against some builders last year. Following this, Dangre has been constantly threatening Adv Lonare and demanding 10 lakh from him. Adv. Lonare stays at a flat in Golden Palace in Mankapur alongwith his wife and two sons.

The incident, that took place at 2 pm, had triggered panic in the Lonare family, who are feeling terrorised.

As per the complaint, Adv Lonare was sleeping in his bedroom at 2 pm. Meanwhile, the door bell rang after which his wife opened the door.

As soon as the door was opened, Dangre and his 5 to 6 ‘bouncers’ barged inside the house. Seeing this, Lonare’s wife went inside the bedroom and locked it from inside. Lonare wanted to open the door, but his wife would not allow him to do so.

Seeing this, Dangre started abusing Lonare and allegedly demanded 10 lakh from him. However, as there was no response from inside the room, Dangre kicked the door and challenged Adv Lonare to come out. Meanwhile, Lonare’s wife called the police control room and informed them about the incident.

When he realised that the cops have been called, Dangre left the house uttering abusive language all the way.

Murder accused too involved

In this incident, the name of the accused in Mohit murder case namely Ashish alias Maddy has also come forward, though Maddy is in jail. Maddy himself has been earlier working for a builder as a ‘bouncer’.

Sources informed that in the investigation of Mohit murder case, one police officer’s role has been suspect.

The same police officer is now working at the newly-constituted Mankapur police station. If the same police officer is given the charge of investigating this incident, then an impartial inquiry may not take place, said sources.
