RSS educational wing’s National Organizational Secretary Mukul Kanitkar spits fire on Congress for politicizing JNU matter
Nagpur: Amidst the highly inflammatory controversy surrounding Jawaharlal Nehru University, fired up by the arrest of JNU Student Union President Kanhaiya Kumar on Saturday, RSS in Nagpur has alleged Congress and Rahul Gandhi of conspiring to shut down the university. Coming down heavily on Congress while playing down the move to sensitize the issue, Mukul Kanitkar, President of education wing of RSS – Bharatiya Shikhan Mandal, said no educational institution can be bigger that the country. Kanitkar’s statement is termed as critical owing to his rank and profile in the saffron outfit.
He said that if JNU and the people associated with the university raise anti-Indian slogans, then such activities should be immediately checked as it is detrimental to the national interest. “JNU is an educational institute and the students there should discuss only education and any such objectionable move should be stopped. If that cannot be done then I must say that no educational institution is bigger than the nation.”
In the light of ongoing controversy, Kantikar’s statement is being viewed as his support to shut down the varsity if the alleged activities cannot be stopped.
