Nagpur: The Social Welfare Department and Women and Child Welfare Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) are organizing a ‘Mahila Udyojika Melava’ (Women Entrepreneurs’ Melava) at Kasturchand Park from October 19 to 23. The event will be inaugurated by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule while Mayor Pravin Datke will preside over it.
A total of 250 stalls of various items will be set up by Mahila Bachat Gat, women entrepreneurs, voluntary organizations, machine manufacturers, and other vendors. The Mahila Bachat Gat will display various food items prepared by themselves. Similarly, the stalls will have terracotta craft pottery, carpets, mats, bedsheets, jute products, scented betelnuts, popcorns, sugar candies prepared by women entrepreneurs. On the display will also be a variety of bangles, jewellery, readymade garments, herbal products, leather purses, perfumes, paintings, electronics items, Kundan Rangoli, spices, handicraft, paper dolls, and other daily need items.
The stalls bagging first, second and third positions will be awarded prizes on the concluding day function of the Mahila Melava. A variety of cultural programmes will also be held on the days of the event. Similarly, sports contests, plays, Rangoli competition, cookery show, health check-up, Sangit Rajani (Musical programme) will also be organized on various days.
The concluding function will be graced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
