NMC tax collection drive touches Rs 46.45 crore target

Tax Meeting News 07 Aug 2015Nagpur: Under the extensive drive launched by NMC for property/ wealth tax collection from its all the ten zones, Rs 46.45 crore have been collected in the month of July, 2015. This target is achieved from 9 out 10 zones, and it exceeds by Rs 2.84 lakh as compared to last year’s tax collection.
It was revealed during a meeting held to assess the situation of tax collection at Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Hall, NMC on August 7. Prominently present in meeting were NMC Mayor Pravin Datke and Ruling party leader Dayashankar Tiwari.

Asinagar zone lags behind by Rs 20 lakh, missing the target. NMC tax collection committee chairman Girish Deshmukh has asked the Asinagar zone to achieve the target by the end of this month (August).
The target in the month of August is fixed as Rs 27 crore from all ten zones, and as many as 4,29,682 demands out of 5,19,572 have been served to the citizens. Remaining demands be served by August 15, 2015, directed Girish Deshmukh.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Datke said, in the accomplishment of assigned task if any employees has done remarkable job in the given month, such employee should be felicitated and his photo should be installed in the zonal office of his work. Agreeing with suggestion, Deshmukh said that it would be implemented from the coming month onward.

During April to July 31, 2015, in all 1920 cases of mutation were disposed of, and 2123 new cases of assessment were sanctioned. Tax collection camps in all 10 zones will be held on Aug 23, 2015, it was decided in the meeting.
Present in the meeting were chairman of establishment, electricity and projects special committee Sunil Agrawal, tax collection committee vice chairperson Kanta Rarokar, other office-bearers Divya Ghurde, Rashmi Fadnavis, Malutai Vanwey, Shila Mohod, Sindhu Uikey, Addl Dy commissionerJayant Dandegaonkar, Shahsikant Hastak, the assistant commissioners of all ten zones and other NMC officials, informed a press note issued by NMC.
