NMC Standing Committee clears hike in market charges as per RR rates

NMC logoNagpur: Standing Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), in its meeting held on Thursday, cleared a proposal for hike based on Ready Reckoner (RR) rates, in charges for those using shops/ otta/space in NMC’s markets. In effect, the hike will be eight to 10 times the existing charges.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting Sudhir alias Bandu Raut, Chairman of Standing Committee, said that the hike was effected as per the Section 79 (d) of Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act. “The effective hike in charges for use of market space in areas like Sitabuldi and Gokulpeth will be 10 times the existing ones, and that in areas like Gol Bazar and Kamal Square will be eight times the existing charges,” he said.

The hike will also be effected in transfer charges. In case of transfer of permit/lease in favour of a person from the family of user, one month’s charges will have to be paid to NMC as per RR rates. If transfer of lease/permit is to partner or a partner wants to leave partnership inlease/permit user charges for two months will have to be paid to NMC. In case oftransfer of lease/pennitto person other than the above two, user charges for three months will have to be paid to NMC. To enable the users to avail of new system, NMC is conducting spe-cial camp fromJuly17, Raut said. In the meeting, Standing Committee cleared various proposals relating to road construction and other works worth over Rs 9.91 crore.
