Water supply in Dhantoli Zone & parts of Hanuman Nagar, Mangalwari, Gandhibagh, Satranjipura & Dharampeth to remain affected
Nagpur: In a bid to strengthen city’s water supply network, especially to enable feeding of Omkar Nagar, Hudkeshar, Dhantoli and Laxmi Nagar ESRs (Elevated Service Reservoirs) commonly known as overhead tanks through newly constructed Pench IV Godhani Water Treatment Plant in the city’s water supply network, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Pench Project Cell and Orange City Water are jointly taking up 2 Butterfly valve installation and some major interconnection works on April 10th.
During this 24 hours shutdown which will start at 10am on April 10, water supply from Seminary Hills to Governor House will be affected. The works to be taken up during this shutdown period are:
1. 1200mm dia butterfly valve installation on 1200mm dia pipeline of Seminary Hills to Governor House: 1 valve by OCW, 1 by Pench Project Cell
2. 1422mm dia Godhani Feeder Main Connectivity with 1200mm pipe of Seminary Hills to Governor House and 1100mm pipe of Omkar Nagar Feeder Pipe
The ESRs and Supply Lines which will have restricted supply are:
Omkar Nagar ESR, wanjari Nagar, Hudkeshwar, Boriyapura 600mm Feeder, Buldi, Dhantoli, Reshimbagh, Chaoni, Sadar.
Supply Area which will have restricted supply are:
Omkar Nagar, Wanjarinagar, Hudkeshwar, Boriyapura 600mm Feeder, Buldi, Dhantoli, Reshimbagh, Chavni and Sadar Babulkheda, Joginagar, Ramanagar, Jaywant nagar, Sewadalnagar, Shivshakti nagar, Akashnagar, Seshnagar, Amar Nagar, Jankinagar, Sri Colony, Bhole Baba Nagar, Vithhal Nagar, Kukde Layout, Rameshwari, Wanjarinagar, Old Subhedar Layout, Welekar Nagar, Raghuji Nagar, Hanumannagar, Chandan Nagar, Vakilpeth, Reshimbagh, Anandnagar, Azamshah Layout, Rambagh, Gujjarwadi, MHADA colony, Ganeshppeth, Ramwadi, Kernalbagh, Gadiikhana, Sadar, Chavni, Ramdaspeth, Yashwant Stadium, Choti Dhantoli, Buldi, Railway, Mohannagar and Boriyapura.
Since the supply to large part of the city will be affected, tanker supply will also not be possible.
NMC-OCW has appealed citizens to store sufficient water for their use and co-operate.
The inconvenience caused to citizens is deeply regretted.
