thunder-and-lightningThe day might have begun bright and sunny in Nagpur. But don’t get fooled – later during the day there is a real possibility of it getting cloudy and sudden rains lashing the city, as they did last evening. This weather condition will continue tomorrow and on Sunday as well.

There is a possibility of hail storm too.
Akola and Washim districts have already experiened hail storms over the last two days.

This is the weather forecast for Vidarbha, Marathwada and parts of Western Maharashtra. Adjoining areas of Gujarat and M.P. and Chattisgarh will be affected too.

These conditions are being created because of low depression areas in Bay of Bengal off the east coast and also cyclonic condition in Telengana and Karnataka coastal areas of western  India. In Himalayan terrain also western whirlwinds  are blowing causing instability. These winds are set to strengthen after April 15th.

In Wednesday’s storms, one  40 years old farmer of Nanded District taking shelther under a mango tree was electrocuted due to lightening hitting the tree. If caught in a sudden rain storm it is never advisable to run for cover under a tree.
