NMC-OCW’s ‘shut-down’ successful, Water supply to all the affected areas restored

Nagpur: All the repair and maintenance works taken up by NMC-OCW during the ’24 hour Shut-down’ have been completed successfully and the water supply to all the affected areas has been restored.

It may be mentioned here that NMC-OCW had taken up works like Red Tank outlet arrangement I/C of 600X400mm from Red Tank to Governor House Vahan Thikana Command Area and replaced 600mm valve while at at Governor House Sadar Command Area : Interconnection of 900X600mm & Governor House Rajnagar Command Area: Interconnection of 900X500mm— valve installation, at Kanhan WTP feeder main: Replacement of 900mm valve on Kanhan 900 central feeder at Indora chowk, Installation 600 mm valve on Kanhan 600 mm feeder for isolation of GH-Vahan Thikana Command Area, opposite Hanuman Mandir on Kamptee road, Leakage repairing at Chambhar Nalla on Kanhan 1300-900 feeder.

All these works are completed successfully.

The 900 mm age-old sluice valve was replaced with latest Butterfly valve while NMC-OCW also installed a 600 mm Butterfly valve on Kanhan 600 mm feeder for isolation of GH-Vahan Thikana Command Area, opposite Hanuman Mandir on Kamptee road. Due to technical difficulties in both works the shutdown period was extended till December 3 evening.

Due to these works, water supply to various areas of 9 zones was affected. But soon as the works completed supply was restored.
