Yavatmal Guardian Minister and his wife to perform ‘kanyadaan’ of girl

Nagpur: The 17th differently abled orphan, 22-year-old girl, Lajwanti, of the Ashram of Shankar Baba Papalkar is going to tie her nuptial knot on December 12 at Yavatmal.

The function will be held on Dec 12, at 5 pm at Dr Nandurkar Mahavidyalaya premises, Yavatmal. She will be married off to Shriram Mukadam son of late Vasantrao Mukadam. The ‘kanyadaan’ of Lajwanti will be performed by Yavatmal Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod and Sheetal Sanjay Rathod.

Seema Kishor Darda has undertaken the responsibility of ‘haldi’ function of Lajwanti at Matroshri Darda Sabhagruh on December 10 at 3 pm.

The prominent personalities to remain present on this occasion include Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Ahir, Maharashtra Transport Minister Diwakar Rawate, MP Vijay Darda, MP Bhavana Gavali, M G Vaidya, MLAs Bachchu Kadu, Madan Perawar, Ashok Uikey, Rajendra Najardhane, Sanjiv Reddy Bodkurwar, Raju Todasm, MLC Sanddep Bajoria, ZP Yavatmal president Arati Fufate, Municipal president Subhash Rai, Divisional commissioner Gyaneshwar Rajurkar, district collector Sachchindra Pratapsingh, SP Akhileshkumar Singh and CEO Mallinath Kalshetti.

It may be mentioned that Shankar Baba Papalkar has been taking care of diferently abled children and orphans since 1990 and gracefully enjoys parenting in all 123 such children (98 girls and 25 boys) so far and he works for their rehabilitation.

Lajwanti in her childhood was found in an abandoned condition at Mahalaxmi Mandir, Kolhapur, and now she has become 22-year-old under his affection and care, and getting married.
