NMC Elections : Civic works stopped in Nagpur as code of conduct applies!

nmc-electionsNagpur: If you have been crying for the pathetic roads, erratic water supply and othe lack of civic amenities in your area, then don’t, atleast for another five months. Reason? All your complaints might be trashed, thanks to the model code of conduct implemented in Nagpur, prior to Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections coming up in February-March next year.

The sudden implementation has put all developmental projects on the back burner for next five months.
NMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar said that with the date of civic election confirmed, the Model Code of Conduct is considered in place in Nagpur.

He said no information has been received from the State Election Commission so far in this regard. The sudden implementation of Model Code of Conduct has left NMC officials frustrated. They were hoping to complete all developmental projects in a month after Diwali. The implementation will also put a full stop to Standing Committee meetings.
