17-year old girl inmate of Shradhanand Anathalaya goes missing mysteriously

Nagpur: The city’s oldest orphanage Shradhanand Anathalaya is again in the news for wrong reason as a 17-year old girl inmate went missing mysteriously between 9.30 pm of Monday and 6 am of Tuesday. It is being suspected that the minor girl is kidnapped by unidentified person(s).

Pratap Nagar WPSI Godmale, as per the directives of Supreme Court that if any minor girl or boy goes missing then the case be treated as that of kidnapping, has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and mounted a search to trace the girl.

Notably, a 17-year old girl inmate of the orphanage had committed suicide allegedly by jumping into a well in the Anathalaya premises in the wee hours of Saturday on April 2, 2016. The deceased was identified as Neha Ramesh Katare aged 17 years (approximately). Neha was said to have been inmate of Shradhanand Anathalaya since the year 2006.

The deceased had studied up to class VII and had later discontinued her schooling. A minor girl from Shradhanand Anathalaya had also gone reportedly missing on March 30, 2016.
