Nagpur: The NMC Contractors Welfare Association has intensified its agitation for pressing their various demands including clearance of their pending bills. The agitation entered the second day.

Addressing the agitating members, the President of NMC Contractors Welfare Association Vijay Naidu slammed the adamant attitude of NMC administration. “Even as the agitation entered second day, the administration is not uttering a word on clearing of contractors bills pending since the past six months. Several contactors are now distancing from carrying out NMC works. The contractors have been facing untold difficulties as they have to return money taken from other lenders, household expenses, EPF remittances, etc. The bills of contractors are lying on the table of Chief Accounts and Finance Officer (CAFO) but the administration is turning a blind eye. Due to deteriorating financial condition of NMC, the contractors are afraid of taking the works of civic body,” Naidu said.

Now, the NMC Contractors Welfare Association has decided to stage “Bhik Mango” agitation on Thursday to wake up the slumbering NMC administration.

Others who participated in the agitation include Sanjiv Chaube, Matin Ahmed, Subhash Ghate, K V Naidu, Rajesh Bajoriya, Mukesh Janbandhu, Akhil Nagrare, Sanjay Ramteke, Nandu Mane, Amjad Khan, Vishal Oberoi, Mahendra Sontakke, Atish Gote, Ramkrishna Wakodikar, Kanshiram Yadav, Anup Bhute, Saddam Ashrafi, Dikshant Gajbhiye, Jaipuria, Samaresh Prasad and many other members of the Association.
