The 55th Formation Day of Maharashtra was celebrated by Nagpur Municipal Corporation at its Civil Lines office on Friday. The Mayor Pravin Datke hoisted the tricolor in the morning. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion include Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, MLA Sudhakar Kohale, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Deputy Commissioner R Z Siddiqui, Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Kakde, NMC Secretary Harish Dubey and other officials and office bearers.
The Mayor said that under Dnyan Alok Yojana, the Mahila Bachat Gat and private registered institutes have been given responsibilities to run 17 libraries and 59 study centres of NMC. Similarly, Bhaskar Chaube, who retired only yesterday as Senior Clerk and Chief Cashier of Accounts and Finance Department, was declared outstanding employee of April month and was felicitated by Mayor by offering him shawl, shriphal and a sapling of Tulsi plant.
