NMC bags second prize for cleanliness

In cheering news, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has been bestowed with second prize for initiating special measures for cleanliness and sewage water recycling and treatment. The Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare received the prize at a meeting organized by Messe Frankfurt India on the topic of ‘Sewage Water Treatment and Solid Waste Management’ in New Delhi on Friday (August 26). The prize was handed over by Director and Consultant of Urban Development Ministry J B Ravinderkumar at National Summit on Water, Waste Water Treatment, Solid Waste Management and Solar Energy.

The Urban Development Ministry had recommended second prize to Nagpur Municipal Corporation for initiating steps for cleanliness and sewage water recycling and treatment.

Allahabad was awarded the first prize followed by Nagpur, Vishakhapatnam, Gwalior, and Bhubaneshwar respectively according to Cleanliness Survey-2016.
