Nagpur: The Standing Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Thursday approved creation of App programme by which the cash-starved civic body will be able to generate more and more revenue. In the NMC Budget, a provision was made for this work. Accordingly, a formal beginning was made today.
According to Chairman of the Standing Committee Ramesh Singare, the aim of creating App programme is to link information regarding city through Internet. Moreover, this an effort to carry out development on the lines of a Smart City. This App programme will have all the information of every house which is connected to NMC working.
This App programme will not only arm the NMC with digital data base but will also help in increasing revenue of the civic body. The work of creating App programme has been allotted to two companies namely Cyber Touch and Anant Touch.
Cyber Touch has been given responsibility of seven zones while Anant Touch has been entrusted with three zones. Each company will be paid Rs 120 for every house. The work will be finished within 18 months.
