
Nagpur: The Press Club, Civil Lines, turned nostalgic on Saturday evening as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari graced the felicitation programme and Smarika launch dedicated to senior journalist and editor Shri S.N. Vinod on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
Speaking at the event, Gadkari fondly remembered his old interactions with S.N. Vinod during the launch of Lokmat Samachar, highlighting the journalist’s immense contribution to the field of media and public discourse. He extended heartfelt wishes to Vinod ji for his continued good health and long life.
The Smarika, titled S.N. Vinod: 85 Saalon Ki Anant Yatra, chronicles the veteran journalist’s inspiring journey through more than six decades of journalistic excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Press Club President Pradeep Maitra said that S.N. Vinod’s journalistic journey has been a guiding light for generations of media professionals and his fearless approach continues to inspire young reporters even today.
Rahul Pande, Chief Information Commissioner of Maharashtra, also shared his admiration for Vinod ji, praising his commitment to truth and his role in shaping responsible journalism in the country.
The event was presided over by senior social worker Girish Gandhi, while senior journalist Purnima Patil coordinated the programme.
The evening witnessed heartfelt tributes, warm anecdotes, and nostalgic recollections — marking a memorable celebration of an extraordinary life devoted to journalism.
