New chapter: NMC hosts ‘Praveshotsav’ as schools reopen after summer holidays

Nagpur: After long summer holidays, students of Nagpur Municipal Schools thronged their respective schools where they were welcomed by their teachers with gifts and different programmes on the first day on Monday. All students were welcomed with chocolates, books and stationery.

East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde attended the programme at Pardi Marathi Uchha Madhyamik Shala, West Nagpur MLA Vikas Thakre attended the event at Priyadarshani Uchha Prathamik Shala and Surendragad Hindi Shala and Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhari graced the programme at Sanjay Nagar Hindi Uchha Prathamik va Madhyamik Shala. All the dignitaries welcomed students with roses and interacted with them during the programme.

The guests also distributed stationary to students during the event. The events were held to encourage students to go to school daily. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) conducted this ‘Praveshotsav’ event on Monday in all its 114 schools including 86 primary and 28 secondary schools in the city. There are 14,637 students studying in these 114 NMC schools.

The main programme of ‘Praveshotsav’ was held at Sanjay Nagar Hindi Uchha Prathamik va Madhyamik Shala in Dipti Signal where Dr Chaudhari was the chief guest. Vaishnavi B, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Sadhana Saiyam, Education Officer, NMC; Vijay Thool, Assistant Commissioner; Harish Raut, Assistant Commissioner; Sanjay Dighore, Assistant Education Officer; Geeta Dandekar, Headmistress; Pradeep Pohane; Chetna Tank; Sarita Kawre; Ajit Kausal; and other school teachers, staff members and students were present during the programme.

Dr Chaudhari and Vaishnavi B distributed books to students during the event. The Municipal Commissioner also addressed students and gave them wishes for their academic session. Selfie points at every NMCschool during the event became the major attraction among students on day one.
