The very normal Nature’s call proved costly for an aged man as he was relieved of Rs 25,000 by a criminal at knife point.

According to police, the complainant Vilas Gokhale (62), a resident of Khare Town, parked his Activa (MH 31 CJ 9337) at the empty complex of N Kumar near Parate Sabhgruha and went to attend the Nature’s call.  At the same time, an unidentified criminal approached Gokhale and relieved him of Rs 25,000 cash at knifepoint. On the complaint of Vilas, Pratap Nagar police have booked the robber under Section 392 of the IPC.

In another case, Sonegaon police arrested a teenager on the charges of looting a pedestrian. According to police, Sanjulal Betekar (23), a resident of Kala Pandhari, Chikhaldara, Amravati was walking near Sonegaon Lake when a youth Ajay alias Chintu Babulal Selokar (19) and his accomplices stopped their bike near Sanjulal and asked him about the time. After going a distance, the bikers again stopped him and this time demanded valuables and cash from Sanjulal. They looted Rs 200 cash and his mobile phone.

On the complaint of Sanjulal, Sonegaon police registered an offence under Section 392 and 34 of the IPC and arrested Ajay in this regard. Further investigations are in progress.
