Nagpur News : Under the joint auspices of Industrial Safety and Health Directorate, Nagpur division, Vidarbha Industrial Safety Council, National Safety Council (Maharashtra Chapter), A Safety Run is organized on March 4, 2014 at Balbharati Ground, Butibori Industrial area at 9 am.
The organizers claimed that they have an overwhelming response to this idea and almost all the Industrialists from MIDC and Butibori agreed to participate in the Safety Run.
The Chief Guests on the occasion will be Police Superintendent, Nagpur Rural Dr Arti Singh (IPS), and renowned Eye Surgeon Padmshree Dr Vikas Mahatme. Similarly Director of Industrial Safety and Health Vilas More will remain present.
For achieving the objective of zero accident aim and for use of safety appliances, awareness and use of caution are the key words of this campaign. In order to imbibe the spirit of the campaign, various competitions like drawing, slogan contest, questionnaire, songs dedicated to safety, drama competition are arranged for the benefit of the workers.
This year ‘Keep the workplace stress-free, and keep control over danger’ is the theme of the campaign. It is the concept put forth by Additional Director of Industrial Safety and Health Directorate J M Motghare that the day should be celebrated in a different and grand manner this year. It is through his motivation that a big event has been organized. The main idea is that instead of observing the day on individual factory level, all industrial establishments should come together for the celebration. It is for the first time in India that all the establishments in the area are coming together to celebrate this day. It is believed that Butibori Industrial Estate, which is largest Five Star Industrial Estate in Asia will get a distinct identity by such celebration.
All entrepreneurs in the Butibori Industrial area, staff, workers, school and college students are going to participate in the event. Some entrepreneurs from Hingna Industrial area are also going to participate in this special event.
After the guidance talks of the dignitaries, the Safety Run will begin. The participants are going to give message of group safety. Right from school children to housewives various people are to participate in the run. Various attractive banners of messages about safety have been displayed in the area. A culture of safety and zero accident ratios is what the programme is aiming at. The winners of the competition are going to get prizes at the hands of dignitaries at the end of the function. There is spontaneous response to the event and five to seven thousand people are likely to participate in the event.
Present at the press conference were National Safety Council Vidarbha Action Centre’s Dnyanesh Mase, Vidarbha Industrial Safety Council’s Shrikant Deshpande and Pradeep Raut from Butibori Manufacturers Association.
