Nagpur: The national conference on cardiac imaging and clinical cardiology, tenth annual event on exotic echo cases of Echocardiography ‘EchoNagpur 2015’ was held recently.
The conference aimed at focusing on case based discussion, provide comprehensive approach towards the diagnostic, clinical decision making, and management skills, in caring for cardiac patients using cardiac imaging and seamless integration of advanced imaging modalities like strain imaging and 3D echo in clinical.
It was formally inaugurated and held under the aegis of Nagpur Summit and CSI Vidarbha chapter, at a city hotel.
It commenced with hands on workshop ‘e – Pathshala’ where the delegates were taught and trained in art and science of echo of heart functions in normal and abnormal conditions with pre- recorded echo studies of real patients compiled specially for the workshop.
Guiding the delegates were J C Mohan, New Delhi, Dr Nitin Burkule, Mumbai, Dr Manish Bansal, Gurgaon, Dr Vinayak Agrawal, Delhi, Dr Shrikanth Sola, Bengaluru and Dr Deepankar Dutta, Kolkata.
On the first day they deliberated on interesting doppler cases, valvular heart diseases, brain and heart, heart failure, unclassified but interesting cases and concluded with echo quiz.
Dr Uday Mahorkar, Dr Vikas Bisne, Dr Pawan Agrawal, Dr Aziz Khan, Dr Anil Jawahirani, Dr Maya Ballal, Dr Pramod Mundra, Dr Nirmal Jaiswal, Dr Sanjay Jain, Dr Shankar Vasishtha, chaired the scientific sessions.
At the outset Dr Mahesh Fulwani made opening remarks. Dr Shantanu Sengupta made introductory welcome speech. They told about the history and layout of the course and how the case based discussions will help understand the subject.
