He opined that post-Independence, the country has not only forgotten its goals, but has also become directionless, because of which, the country has not made any progress so far. In this context, he praised China, which is always in its line of fire. Dr Bhagwat said this while delivering his inaugural speech at the tri-yearly conclave of tribal, agricultural and rural development workers being organised by Pune-based Suyash Charitable Trust.

Held in Maharshi Vyas Hall at Dr Hedgewar Memorial in Reshimbag, chairman of Zee Media and Essel Group Subhash Chandra. head of Suyash Trust Y G Ghaisas and Smita Ghaisas were present on the occasion.

Dr Bhagwat said that the country had a specific goal prior to Independence, but post that, the nation has forgotten about its objectives. Chine and Israel too attained independence around the same time as India, but these two nations have not cast aside their goals even as their forward march is wrought with struggles. This is the reason why the two nations are seen as powerful nations.

China has managed to finish its internal strife and to eradicate poverty, making its place in the global market. Speaking on the occasion, Subhash Chandra said that the nation would realise its true potential only when the nation”s citizens would be made capable.
