Nandanvan police book goons in extortion case

Nagpur News : Nandanvan Police booked youths for demanding extortion money from a Chinese Stall owner on Wednesday night. According to information, Santosh Singh Shriramsingh Thakur (31), a resident of Plot No. 20, new cotton layout, Ghat road, runs Shreenath Chinese Centre beside Sanskar School, Dighori.

On Wednesday night, Ravindra Dhule, who works in the stall, was busy working when few youths forcefully entered the staff. Accused Abdul Sattar Abdul Sumar (27), a resident of bada Tajabad, and his mates started demanding extortion money from Ravindra. When he informed them that the owner is not in the shop, the accused threatened Ravindra pointed a sharp weapon at him and threatened to pay them Rs 2 lakh or be ready for dire consequences.

The goons also damaged the shops and threatened to close the shop permanently if money was not paid to them. When they left, Ravindra immediately called Santosh and informed him about the goons. Santosh rushed to Nandanvan Police Station and lodged a complaint of extortion against those goons. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 385, 427 and 34 of the IPC and sub section 7 of Law Amendment Act. Further investigations are on.
