Nagpur News.

The excessive rains appear to have little impact on the situation of potable water supply in many areas in Nagpur. The slums and hutments are facing the worst of all. In the wake of no water supply in their areas too often, the people residing beside the nullah risk their bit to fetch drinking water for their homes. Everyday most of the people are seen braving the boundary wall of nullah, walking through the trunk line to reach at the leaking point.

The leak in this trunk line has come as a boon to many, though it gets too risky as the pipeline gets slippery owing to the leakage. It often gets troublesome to walk through this pipeline carrying the water filled utensils.

Our lensman happened to come across a woman ferrying water from one the trunk lines, in a sheer display of NMC’s apathy to ensure regular water to the concerned areas.

Kusum Sontakke, a resident in the vicinity informed that the water supply remains too scanty in their area and not regular too. “So we are left with only option to risk our way through these leaking trunk lines to atlease suffice our immediate requirements,” she lamented.
