Nagpur: Ace shooter Ananya Naidu of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has bagged eighth position in the All India Inter University Pistol and Rifle Shooting event that was held at Subharti University, Meerut.
On the basis of her performance, Ananya has qualified for the Khelo India University Games. In the women’s individual 10m air rifle event, Ananya finished eighth. Top eight players qualify for the Khelo India University Games.
Ananya is a student of Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education and practices regularly at Anjali Bhagwat Academy in Pune. Ananya started her career in 2016 and took the basic rifle lessons under the guidance of Shashank Chauhan of Ace Sports Academy of Nagpur District Rifle Association.
Ananya secured 10th position with 624.6 marks in Maharashtra Olympics held recently. Nagpur University Vice Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhary, Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU, Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Registrar, Dr Raju Hiwse and others congratulated Ananya.
