Nagpur’s Raviraj investment scam figures in Assembly, CM Fadnavis assures firm action

Vidhan BhavanNagpur: The infamous Raviraj investment scam of Nagpur figured in Assembly with members raising issue of duping of hundreds of investors to the tune of crores of rupees. As soon as the Question Hour began, Nagpur MLAs Sudhakar Kohale, Vikas Kumbhare and Krishna Khopde raised the issue and sought Government’s course of action. The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in his reply said one of the duped investors has lodged a complaint with Dhantoli Police Station on 8.7.2014. Subsequently, the cops registered an offence under Sections 420, 406, 120(B) of the IPC in this connection. The Raviraj Investment and Strategies Company’s Director Rajesh Suresh Joshi along with eight other accused associates hatched a criminal conspiracy and lured investors with high returns on their money. The accused perpetrated frauds by duping the complainant with Rs 2 lakh and other investors to the tune of crores of rupees. The investors’ principal amount invested in the Raviraj company stood at Rs 4,56,37,920. The key accused Rajesh Suresh Joshi was arrested on 7.8.2014. The hearing on pre-arrest interim bail pleas of the other accused is going on in Sessions Court. The property of the accused has been seized. A chargesheet against the accused has been filed in the court on 30.9.2014, said the Chief Minister and added that the duped investors would be provided with justice and return of their money.
