Nagpur: Ajni police have arrested a man in connection with the alleged snatching of a gold chain worth around ₹60,000 from a youth travelling on a motorcycle near Ramteke Nagar in Toli.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred when Deepak Monde was travelling home on his friend Alok’s two-wheeler. The accused allegedly approached them from behind, suddenly placed his hand on Monde’s shoulder and then snatched a nearly 10-gram gold chain from his neck.

After grabbing the chain, the accused reportedly fled from the spot. Monde attempted to chase him but could not catch him. He later approached Ajni Police Station and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint, Ajni police registered a case under relevant sections and launched an investigation. During the probe, police identified Kishanram Nade, a resident of the same Toli locality, as the alleged accused and arrested him.
Police are currently questioning Nade and gathering further information about the incident. Investigators are also working to recover the stolen gold chain and establish whether the accused was involved in any other similar offences.
