Nagpur: Staunch Vidarbha State Activist and Convener of Maha Vidarbha Janjagaran Nitin Ronghe has been invited to observe the US Presidential Election Programme scheduled on 8th Nov. 2016.
Four years back, Nitin was selected from hundreds of applicants for the prestigious Legislative Fellows Programme 2012. This programme is sponsored by the US Government Department of State. During this programme Nitin gained an understanding of the U.S. legislative process and the role of civic society and its engagement in the political process. He also got an exposure to develop and implement projects and programs that promote good governance, civil society, and democratic institutions. Also efforts were made to create linkages between American and Asian governments, institutions, and citizens and increase regional cooperation among governments and civil society. He could also witness the US Presidential Elections closely and attend the election rallies of Barak Obama and Mitt Romney, during his internship at Columbus Ohio. After this he attended the Professional Fellows Congress at Washington DC and had a once in a life time opportunity to interact with representatives from 58 countries of the world. Post this programme he has been in regular touch with his American Counterparts and sharing information on various issues.
Owing to this work he has been invited by IVC Columbus to observe the forthcoming USA Presidential Elections. Only two persons have been invited, one being Nitin Ronghe Convener of Maha Vidarbha Janjagaran. He will be visiting USA between 27th October to 23rd November.
Ohio State is considered to be a very important state in the US Presidential Election in fact it has a reputation of being a swing state in USA. During this Presidential Election period IVC Columbus, will be hosting a number of international dignitaries, political party leaders and distinguished visitors to observe the 2016 Presidential Elections in the United States. Nitin is going to be in Ohio during the election period and also for the post election activities through the following week. In addition to this he will be also visiting Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Chicago and New York to meet US Law Makers, Civil Societies and other organizations.
Remarkably Nitin is also trying to meet people from Vidarbha who are settled in USA for the Maha Vidarbha Janjagaran. He will try to gather support from them for Vidarbha Statehood.
Along with Nitin Ronghe, National Spokesperson of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Saravanan Annadurai has also been invited for this programme.
