Nagpur: A young man was allegedly attacked with a knife while he had gone out for breakfast in the Yashodhara Nagar area of Nagpur. Police have arrested one accused in connection with the attack, while another is absconding.
The incident reportedly took place on the night of September 15 near Fardeen Lawn at Mangalwar Bazaar, under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station.

According to the complaint, Mehenabauddin alias Rustam Siddiqui had gone to have breakfast with a friend when the accused, identified as Sultan alias Tipu Irfan Ansari and Irfan Ansari, allegedly arrived at the spot.
Police said the dispute was linked to an earlier altercation involving a woman who lived in front of the complainant’s house. Sultan Ansari had allegedly asked the woman’s husband to intervene after she went to the police station following a dispute with him.
The matter reportedly escalated, following which Irfan Ansari allegedly grabbed Siddiqui by the neck. Sultan allegedly attacked him with a knife, injuring him near the ribs.
The injured man was subsequently taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment.
Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under relevant sections based on the complaint and arrested Sultan alias Tipu Irfan Ansari. Police are searching for Irfan Ansari.
Police are also verifying information regarding the alleged criminal records of the complainant and the accused as part of the ongoing investigation.
