The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a mesmerizing collective recital that symbolized unity, discipline, and devotion.

Dignitaries in Attendance

The event was attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the visionary behind Khasdar Sanskruti Mahotsav; Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and Founder of Geeta Pariwar; Kanchantai Gadkari, President of Sanskar Bharati; MLA Pravin Datke; Geeta Pariwar’s National President Sanjay Malpani; International Working President Ashuji Goyal; and Prof. Anil Sole, President of the Mahotsav Committee.

Educators Srinivas and Vandana Varnekar, who trained students in the meaning, pronunciation, and philosophy of the Gita, were specially felicitated by Nitin Gadkari for their contribution.

A Moment of Pride for Nagpur

Calling it a proud milestone, Nitin Gadkari said,

“The Bhagavad Gita is a philosophy of life. Through such initiatives, we aim to instill moral values and purpose among students. After the success of last year’s ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Manache Shlok’ events, this record adds another feather in Nagpur’s cultural cap.”

Bhagavad Gita: The Guide to Life

Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj congratulated the organizers, saying,

“If India is to awaken spiritually, such programs must be held across every region. The Bhagavad Gita is not just a scripture — it’s a guide for righteous living. Those who follow its teachings become stronger, wiser, and more purposeful.”

Patriotic Resonance with “Vande Mataram”

To mark 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, thousands of students also sang the national song together after the Gita recital — their united voices turning the ground into a sea of devotion and patriotism.
