Nagpur woman abducted, sold for Rs 20,000 in Madhya Pradesh, one accused arrested

Nagpur News: Another shocking report of abduction of woman and selling her to the gang involved human trafficking has come to fore.

According to police, the accused Atmaram Sripallilal Rai (37), resident of Santosh Nagar, Suchita Hrushi Suryavanshi (39), resident of Nagsenvan and Shekhar in a well-planned conspiracy, trapped a 40 year-old woman, residing under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station. The accused trio lured her with providing a job and once the woman agreed to their “job offer”, they kidnapped her and took her to Madhya Pradesh.

After reaching Madhya Pradesh, the accused sold the woman  to person residing in Janjaligaon in Rs 20,000. The accused trio warned the woman of dire consequences if she tried to come to Nagpur.

However, the woman’s daughter lodged a complaint with the police in this connection. Acting on the complaint, police booked the accused Atmaram Sripallilal Rai, Suchita Hrushi Suryavanshi and Shekhar under relevant sections of the IPC. Police succeeded in arresting Atmaram and searching for others.
