Nagpur: With just 17 days left for the Nagpur Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature, the city’s contractors’ association has announced a complete work stoppage, alleging that the government has failed to clear overdue payments amounting to ₹150 crore.

Contractors engaged in various development works across Nagpur claim they have received only 20% of the sanctioned funds, and even that amount is insufficient. They allege that both the administration and local authorities have consistently ignored their demands despite repeated appeals.

The Winter Session is scheduled to begin on December 8, and the contractors’ decision to halt all ongoing works could significantly disrupt infrastructure and civic preparations across the city.
